HEATHER Wilkinson began painting in 2014, a few years after retirement from Counselling in the schools, while grounded from her travels and other activities by an arthritic hip. She found great joy in painting moments of connection with people and places that she had recorded on her camera. Photos from her travels in India, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Europe and Mexico and at home in BC were her first main subjects.
Painting, mostly in watercolour, Heather discovered she had a special gift in portraiture.
Her flowers are, in a sense, like portraits.
