This watercolour is of Pushpa, the mother of a young man, Sonu, now spiritual grandson, in India in 2013 before I started painting. We visited their village on that trip and on another I went on my own and stayed for a week in the village with this family. The light, love and presence in her face and those of so many in India bring me great joy.
