In 2015, 3 months after my first hip replacement I went to Venice for a week of watercolour painting with Mary Whyte, an impressive watercolour painter from Carolina.  Our last day was portrait painting.  I felt connected to this lovely girl as I sat in front of her and painted her beautiful, somewhat wistful, face.
